Santurce is a large "barrio" which lines Condado and Ocean Park to the south. It is also the location of La Placita, San Juan's party zone. Santurce is quintessential San Juan. The area is not deemed to be part of the Tourist Zone. Santurce boasts a number of artistic and historical sites, including the Puerto Rican Symphony, Museum of Art, Belles Artes, and Contemporary Art Museum. Santurce is perfectly safe for walking for urban spirits, but individuals who have never lived in a larger city would be advised to take taxis to and front Santurce. |
